will attend the following major stock
shows:
Ft. Worth
Stock Show & Rodeo: January 29- February
1

entry deadline is Nov. 1.

Ft.
Worth is not a terminal show. Only
the Grand and Reserve Overall
Champions and the Grand and Reserve
Division/Breed Champions will sale.
All other animals may be taken home
from the show.
Houston
Livestock Show & Rodeo: March 10-14

entry deadline is Dec. 1.

Houston
is a terminal show. This means that
your animal will NOT come home with
you. Each exhibitor will receive
market price for their animal
whether or not they make the sale.
The animals
must be tagged in at county validation
in late October. If you need help
finding an animal to purchase contact
Ms. Tindel. As soon as school starts we
will determine the number of animals
that will be purchased through the Ag.
department and make arrangements for an
exact date to buy them. You must give
Ms. Tindel the money to purchase the
animal BEFORE she goes to buy them so
that the breeder can be paid at the time
of purchase. We will do our best to
find you the best animal we can for your
price range, however most show quality
sheep and goats will cost at least $250.
Chickens
& Rabbits:
These
species will only be shown through
FFA at the county stock show. They
will be purchased by your Ag
Teacher. Let your Ag teacher know
ASAP if you are interested in one of
these projects!
