Career
Development Events
Career
Development Events build on what is
learned in agricultural classes and
encourage members to put their
knowledge into practice. These
events are designed to help a member
prepare for a career in agriculture
by testing and challenging the
student's technical, leadership,
interpersonal and teamwork skills as
well as their knowledge of the
subject matter.
For a
complete list of CDEs and their rules
please visit the
Texas FFA Website.
If you are
interested in competing on a CDE team
talk to your teacher! These
competitions occur in the Spring.
Practices will take place before or
after school and during tutorials,
depending the team. Most teams will
attend an invitational contest to get
some hands on experience, and then
proceed to the Area VIII competition
where you must place in the top five
teams to advance to state. The first
place teams at state will advance to
nationals.
